10 Ideas for Enjoying Summer in Valencia
Take a walk through the historic city center
Tour the ancient Roman city, the Cathedral , the Miguelete, the Plaza de la Virgen, the Lonja, the Central Market and get lost in the streets of El Carmen. Any small bar in the area is a good place to grab a drink. Behind the Lonja, you’ll find several terraces.
Valencia Town Hall Square
In the Town Hall Square, you can see the majestic, recently restored Post Office building. At night, it’s illuminated, just like the Town Hall building.


The Turia Garden
Lose yourself in the Turia Gardens. Cross the city along the old riverbed and enjoy the largest garden in Valencia. You can do so on foot or by bike.
The City of Sciences
If you want to be a child again, you can’t miss visiting the City of Arts and Sciences.. Don’t miss the hemispheric, Oceanogràfic – the largest aquarium in Europe – and the Prince Felipe Museum .
The Bioparc
The Bioparc It’s another place to visit, especially if you’re traveling with children. Gorillas, giraffes, lions, elephants, hippos, and other animals await you.
Visit the Beaches
Enjoy the beach at Las Arenas or La Malvarrosa, and take the opportunity to have a drink on the Paseo de Neptuno, such as mussels, tellinas or a good paella. At night, be sure to visit the Marina Real where you can have a drink and enjoy good music.
July Fair
In July, we celebrate the July Fair. There are fireworks in the port area on Saturdays, and several concerts, plus an evening with various activities in the city center, and museums stay open until the early hours. There’s a funfair on the river, and you can find a small market on Neptuno Promenade.
Visit the Gardens and Parks
If you want to relax for a while, you can visit the Botanical Garden or the Viveros or Real Gardens, an ancient Arab garden surrounded by gardens, trees and fountains. Very close to these, you can walk through the Monforte Gardens .
Ruzafa
If you are looking for something different and multicultural, without a doubt, your neighborhood is Ruzafa. Places serving a variety of cuisines (Mexican, Spanish, vegetarian, Arabic) are perfect for enjoying your first drinks of the night or participating in a cultural activity.
ALBUFERA
The main attraction is the large freshwater lake of more than 2,800 hectares, the largest in Spain, another gem of Valencia that you can’t miss.
